Being the youngest of 3 girls in a conservative family full of doctors and scientists in NYC, Alessia knew at a young age that her place wasn’t behind the doors of an emergency room or looking through a beaker, but on the stage.  Despite that, she was forced to go to a school that specialized in medicine by her parents, making her miserable and unable to connect to her peers.  As a result, she made no friends in high school, which left her alone in her thoughts.

She found herself on stage every chance she got—with no support from her family, who thought that her “dreamer ways” would leave her penniless and lonely.  She unofficially renamed herself Dream as a form of rebellion against her family.  With no support system but herself, she kept her passion alive through sneaking out to see musicals, and joining a community theater in secret, where she finally felt “at home”.  She was deemed a “triple threat” with her mastery of singing, acting, and dance.  At 18, she cut off all ties with her family and moved away to pursue her dream as an actress.
