When I was younger, I always wished for lighter eyes.  Brown is boring sometimes, and while I normally hate the color green, green eyes are by far my favorite.  I always have one CAS Sim with green eyes, and mate them with someone with nice eyes as well, and smile when I see green-eyed babies.

Ronnie Tickian. That would be my little brother. I already feel bad for the kid. You see, Mom had Ven and I close in age. We were able to go to school together, even if it was only for a year. Ronnie was born when I was almost a teen. This kind of age difference can’t possibly fare well. And being born to two occult parents bring yet another uncertainty. Remember, I was born 100% human. I have no witch powers and I don’t eat raw meat. In a family of “normal” (at least as far as Moonlight Falls is concerned), my kind is considered “weird”. What about Ronnie? Will he suffer the same fate of being “weird”? It’ll be easier if he was at the very least a witch. That way he won’t get the giggles I did.

Imagine being asked on a daily basis to show your fangs or make an apple appear, and had to say on a daily basis that you couldn’t do anything. I got the funny looks. And the laughs. But I learned to adapt. But with the innate insane trait in the family, how will he? I got lucky. Granted, I may trip over my own feet and have a “holier than thou” attitude at times, but at least I’m not a candidate for being in the nuthouse…ever.

Ronnie grew up while Mom and Dad was on some free vacation. They left Ven in charge. Now this wouldn’t be a bad idea, except…well, Ven was a teenager. During their sabbatical, Ven decided to throw a party. It was innocent enough, even if she tried to get me to leave the house so close to curfew. She had a couple of friends over…and apparently one was one of them D-class celebrities. Well anyway, Ronnie grew up during this party and not an hour later…

Mom and Dad showed up. Ven panicked, but it was too late. The house was still in shambles. After Mom yelled at Ven, and we got the house at least presentable, I took a good look at Ronnie.

He looked kinda like Dad. He definitely had the same “no hair” problem I did when I was his age, but I heard that this is around the time where occult toddlers unleash their hidden powers.

Ronnie appeared normal. Very normal, actually; as if he were human. Like me. Goddess help him. Goddess, let him be a witch for his own sanity.

State of the Blog

Hey guys, just to let you know I am not giving up on the legacy, I do have half of it written. My issue is finding the updating “happy medium”, so I’ve decided on trying to update the blog with what I have written so far and then go from there. I may end up consolidating some of the chapters I’ve written so far into longer ones because so far, Lombardo’s story spans 16 chapters–and I haven’t even gotten to his University adventures yet. His may end up being about 30 unless I somehow find a way to condense it all into 4 so there would be 20 instead of that 30 (because that’s just a lot of writing on the founder alone, and I’d like to get on with Gen 2 at this point–which is at a grand total of 1).

I am in the process of moving, and I may be without net for about a month or so. I will, however, be able to write the story as I have been doing. I’m sorry for the sporaticness (yeah yeah, not a word), but it’ll get better.

Abduction

To the person who asked before, your sim can only be abducted if he does not have full logic. I leveled up a sim and nothing I tried could get him abducted. Easiest way is to have him searching the galaxy through any telescope between 12 and 3am (they will usually get abducted at 1am ish) and having two or more space rocks in his inventory will increase the chances. Logic skill between 1 and 9.

I’ve had two Sims abducted randomly without looking in a telescope.  One of them was abducted while outside of her house!

I wonder though…can female Sims get pregnant from abduction in TS3, or is that still a male-only thing? (The other Sim was male and got pregnant)

Since the game has a limit to the number of sliders you can have per category, you need a mod like Awesomemod (core mod) or Nraas’ Master Controller + Intergration (non-core mod) or Sclub Slider Hack for all the sliders to appear and work.

I spent my birthday sleeping most the time, but I did get some Sims time in as well…enough time to put simbolical's dorm into my legacy game and to get an error 16 (oh that would be my luck, but I got it fixed).  But I didn't do much after that because it was already 2am.

I heard a rumour , that Sims 4 will be fully online game! Om.. It’s greate news) Perhaps the city will be populated by many characters.

I think this is terrible news. Having the game fully online will severely limit if not make it impossible for custom content/mods. Gameplay…

Hell to the no.  I’ve read that the game that Sim City 5 did so shitty because of that reason (among other stuff) that Amazon essentially stopped selling digital copies of the game.  I play Sims because sometimes I don’t want to be online (or can’t if I’m traveling).  If they pull that shit with Sims 4, I will have an extra $300 in my pocket because I won’t buy it or its expansions.

Now for part 2: hair color.  If I had it my way, I’d have an entire town of redheads, because I LOVE redheads.  Not sure why, but the Sims I play the most are of  the redhead persuasion.   However, I also like diversity.  So I wanna know…

My goal was to make this dorm realistic in terms of floors and dorm rooms so…

it has 16 dorm rooms, 4 shared kitchens and bathrooms, 3 computer labs, 1 common area, a gym, and a laundry room.

I tried to keep this relatively CC content free however there are a few pieces you will need which I have included in the download.  I have all the EPs and unfortunately, I didn’t make a note as to what I used BUT I did try to stick to mostly University Life content.

Nicolai saw his younger brother turn into a werewolf.

Terrified, he then walked outside, walked to the garden (the only way I was able to keep zombies away was with a gated garden), and did this.  Rather than passing out right in front of his brother.

Thank you.  I personally love having diversity in my game—it makes things more interesting.  Like for example, in my legacy family, the oldest is a lesbian and one of the twins are gay.  It makes for interesting stories, and as someone who does write stories (or at least try to), interesting is good.

So I have a question for my followers...

So in the event that I actually do get 100+ followers, I do want to have a gift ready.  As much as I would like to build dorms and/or homes, I don’t have the attention span to build a huge one  (And I’m not overly confident in my building skills—I usually build on to existing ones).  So the next best thing would be a downloadable Sim.  This is my plan: taking the “most common denominator” of each thing I ask (which will be 5: traits, hair color, eye color, build and gender).  Depending on what answer pops up the most will be part of the Sim.  

Now here’s the question: List at least 3—what are your favorite traits on a Sim?

Here’s my (belated) 100 Followers Gift!

The Original is by Kimu 412 (Over at SimpleStudios404 ☺ ), so all credit goes to him/her.  :)

What I did was retexture it to look my like the North American Version.  I changed the plug-ins for the controllers, added the purple to the controller/system, changed the games, new texture, etc.

It’s not exactly like the NA version, but a bit close.  I will note that where the switches are, theses this rectangle sticking out.  Since I’m not sure how to work the mesh, and I definitely do not want to mess it up, I’m just leaving it how it is.

The SNES is fully functional, so sims will be able to play video games on it.  They will play the standard EA video games and use the standard controller, though.

Meet Shadow (toddler, werewolf/witch hybrid), Shane (child, werewolf), Ronnie (young adult, human), Nicolai and Barcelle (twin teens, Nicolai’s a witch, Barcelle’s human).  These are all Lombardo’s brothers (his picture’s coming up soon, had to find one that wouldn’t spoil the legacy story…much).  They, at one point, were all blond.  Thanks to a nice mod that I was pointed to when I mentioned it a few days ago, the Tickian boys all have a nice mixture.  I think Ronnie’s is my favorite—think his borders more on orange, but it’s not a bad orange, so it’s okay)

Me being a dumbass actually forgot the after picture of Barcelle.  I had to reroll his a few times—he was getting the extreme blond effect again, or the complete redhead thing (which wasn’t a bad thing, but since I decided to keep the founder’s hair as is, I wanted something different).

Update: Please re-download! I made a rookie error with the first package, but this one should be working 100% smoothly. The original file caused problems with most of the game’s strings, errors with community lots etc. This one fixes all of that :) So yeah, if you’ve downloaded, download again, and if you’ve reblogged you should probably re-reblog or edit your original reblog or whatever so you’re not promoting the wrong link! If, like me, you’re getting sick of seeing your student sims drinking juice instead of beer, you’ll like this :) 

This mod edits the game strings and replaces the term ‘juice’ with ‘alcohol’ or ‘beer’, or just gets rid of the term altogether, depending on the context. Meaning your sims can now drink beer, throw regular keggers and play beer pong like normal people! It also changes the moodlet names so sims will get either Buzzed, Tipsy or Drunk from drinking said beer. The pictures just show a couple of examples of the changes.

Unfortunately I know nothing about proper scripting, object modding etc, so this mod won’t make your sims act differently. It just changes the wording in the game. If we’re lucky, ani will update the alcohol mod to include the UL objects soon :) It also only changes the UL strings, not those relating to juice bars and LN stuff, simply because I’m lazy and there is probably (hopefully) already a mod out there for that.

Lombardo (my anti-legacy founder) recently gave birth to an alien.  Since I haven’t had the chance to play the house and see him grow up.  I haven’t seen many alien shots yet (probably not looking in the right places), but are all the TS3 aliens bald?

I’d be kinda sad if they were, at least in TS2 they had hair.

Alienware was bought out by Dell, and Dell has a tendency to muck stuff up.  I had a Dell laptop that didn’t last the duration of its warranty before dying, they told me it’d cost $700 to fix it.  With that kind of money, might as well get a new one.  Which I eventually did.  And maybe their desktops are better, I dunno, but my cousin had issues with a Dell desktop, so…yeah, Dude, don’t get a Dell.

I’m in the market for a new laptop (ETA: Hopefully Christmas, but may be next March), and I steer clear from anything Dell, including Alienware, especially since I actually have seen a brand-new Alienware desktop go awry.  He did send it back eventually, and even replaced some parts OUT OF THIS NEW ONE as well.

Funny part is, this same guy built my fiance’s computer from the ground up—it is a monster.  Not sure why he didn’t build his own. For those who say to get a new desktop, sometimes that’s not possible due to space constraints—we don’t have a place big enough to hold two desktops, so I play on a laptop for stuff that isn’t graphically demanding (like Simming) and he has his desktop.

Insane sims do this.  I have multiple pics of my insane sims walking around in their swimwear doing everyday things…and it doesn’t change when they’re preggo.

How do I like the new expansion so far?  Full of epic.  My fiance made a couple of Sims named after me and him.  I’d call it our simselves, but…you’ll see why I’d rather call ‘em alter-simselves.

The Good:

There’s so much more to do now!  Not only can you now go to college, but there’s so much to do in college.  There is also the social groups, which I later found out that you can build influence up even when you’re not in college (probably was a given, but still was a shock to see that my anti-legacy founder has some nerd influence).  Parties!  I went to a bonfire party (where only like 2 people showed up) and threw test tubes in it.  Made stuff all pretty.  Okay…not TOO pretty, but the smoke was PURPLE.

…ish.

There is the option to blog.  Now as a real-life blogger, this piques my interest.  I haven’t figured out how to do so yet (bet it’s a nerd thing), but there will be a blogger in my anti-legacy household. 

Arcade games!

This would be my fiance’s alter-simself in his natural habitat.  Aiming for video game designer on this guy.  Which is an awesome career that should’ve been added sooner.  Just saying.

Another cool thing I learned is that you don’t age while in University.  Which is good, because unlike in the Sims 2, full adults (and I think elders as well) can now further their education.  Imagine aging in the uni world as an elder…then croaking before the term is done.  Yep.

The Bad

I am disappointed that PlantSims can’t be made via CAS.  They didn’t do that with aliens either, but it seems a lot easier to get a male Sim pregnant with an alien than to have an experiment go awry.  It is one of the things I plan on playing around with further as my alter-simself’s major is science.

Story Progression doesn’t work all too nicely with this (at least not yet).  Traveler went deathly wrong in the uni world as well.  That has since been fixed.  But SP is off.  I guess it can be a good thing—I do have a few Sims that I don’t want to age in the regular world.

I liked that in TS2, you had many majors to pick from.  Now you have 6.  Granted, each major will help in some form with getting a job.  Someone is probably gonna come out with custom majors, which will be nice, as long as it’s done gracefully.

I had fun playing with university so far.  I didn’t want to get too deep into it because I do have to find a way to make it into my story.  But if I had the chance to, I’d play it all day.  But alas, I share the computer that has Sims on it with my fiance.

No, I’m not Irish, but my birthday happens to fall on St. Patty’s Day, so I have a soft spot for this.  Yes, I do hate the color green, but trust me, it’s REALLY hard to hate green when you’re pinched constantly for NOT wearing it.  And I bruise easily.  So I wear enough green on that day to appease the masses.
